Your support enables the Population Council to save lives
A gift to the Population Council using long-term appreciated stocks and mutual funds can provide tax advantages. For instructions on donating stocks, mutual funds, or other types of securities please contact the development office by phone at +1 877 339 0500 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- Name of securities or symbol;
- Number of shares you are transferring or approximate value;
- Brokerage house/accounting firm and contact name; and
- Your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address. We ask that you inform the Population Council of your gift. Privacy laws discourage brokerage firms from releasing the names of clients, so you will need to give the Population Council permission to recognize that you have made a stock donation. If you do not inform us about your stock donation, the brokerage firm can decide not to give us your name, and therefore it will be difficult to acknowledge and thank you for your generous gift.
Did you know that your gift to the Population Council may be doubled or even tripled by your employer? Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match tax-deductible charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Please ask your human resources representative whether your company is eligible and complete its matching gift form and send it with your gift to: Development Office, Population Council, One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, New York, NY 10017, fax: +1 212 755 6052.
Workplace giving enables federal, state, and private-sector employees to support the Population Council through an employee giving program. This program allows individuals to give through monthly, bimonthly, or weekly payroll deductions.
To participate, simply check with your personnel office to find out about your company’s workplace giving program.
If you are a government or military employee, you may designate the Population Council as the recipient of a contribution. Simply use the Population Council code number 11044 when making your gift.
