Population Council activities in Nicaragua focus on researching contraceptive options and other reproductive health care services, particularly in Ministry of Health programs.

To introduce injectables as a family planning method for women, a Council project identified provider training needs, as well as methods for follow-up, supervision, and evaluation. Council staff have also conducted training and dissemination workshops on emergency contraception for health care providers in both the private and public sectors.
