Register for free at: http://my.ibpinitiative.org/public/implants/ In this one-week online discussion, health professionals around the world will share their experiences with contraceptive implants in diverse service delivery settings. Contraceptive implants offer women many advantages that can suit their reproductive intentions and that make continued use easy. This forum will be an opportunity to review the latest guidance on contraceptive implants featured in Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers and exchange information and experiences with colleagues who are working to provide good-quality implant services. The forum will focus on technical as well as programmatic issues. The discussion will be guided by the interest of the participants and may include diverse topics such as what the new implants are, counseling about bleeding changes, safe insertion and removal procedures, costs of implants, and what programs consider when introducing implants into their method mix. A variety of tools and resources will be available for easy access in the online resource library. Family Planning: A Global Handbook for Providers was prepared through a unique collaboration between Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization (WHO), and over 30 organizations around the world. This online discussion is sponsored by the ACQUIRE Project/EngenderHealth, Family Health International (FHI), the Population Council, and the INFO Project, based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs in collaboration with the Implementing Best Practices (IBP) in Reproductive Health Initiative and WHO.
