FRONTIERS PROJECT
Integrating Tuberculosis Case Finding into Focused Antenatal Care

FRONTIERS worked with the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Unit and the Ministry of Health’s Division of Reproductive Health to integrate tuberculosis (TB) screening and management within antenatal care (ANC) services. The project documented the feasibility of integrating TB detection within services for expectant mothers and prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT). Project activities included training health workers to improve their knowledge of TB and ANC services, strengthen their capacity to detect TB in pregnant clients, and refer or manage suspected cases. Researchers will evaluate the intervention’s effect on outcomes among TB-positive women.
