FRONTIERS PROJECT
Global Agenda: Improving the Quality of Family Planning Services in Uganda

The Regional Centre for Quality of Health Care at Makerere University and FRONTIERS tested measures to improve the delivery and management of family planning services in Ugandan clinics. The intervention resulted in improved provider job satisfaction and motivation, and increased quality and frequency of supervisory visits. The availability of supplies for the health management information systems improved, and most units began analyzing and utilizing data onsite. However, the quality of client–provider interactions did not improve.
