FRONTIERS PROJECT
Technical Assistance for Implementing Best Practices in the Asia and Near East Region

This project seeks to expand the use of practices that have been shown through research to be effective and easily implemented without great expense, and to have a high potential impact on reproductive health. To that end FRONTIERS will work with local counterparts in two countries to increase the use of proven best practices. In India, FRONTIERS will help train auxiliary nurse midwives and lady health visitors to use systematic screening to identify clients’ reproductive health needs in the northern state of Uttaranchal. Additionally, a meeting will be held at the state headquarters to plan and implement cascade training for the systematic introduction of emergency contraceptive pills (ECP) in Uttaranchal. In Egypt, FRONTIERS will provide technical assistance to build the capacity of Egyptian training institutions to promote the lactational amenorrhea method (LAM) as postpartum contraception for Egyptian women.
