FRONTIERS PROJECT
Impact of Improved Client–Provider Interaction on Women’s Achievement of Fertility Goals

FRONTIERS, the Social Planning, Analysis and Administration Consultants (SPAAC), and the Cairo Demographic Center (CDC) collaborated on this study to examine the effect of improved client–provider interaction on contraceptive use and continuation. The intervention group reported higher satisfaction than women in the control clinics (15–20 percentage points greater). However, no differences were observed between the groups in continuation rates for all methods 12 months after the study was completed. When discontinuation occurred, it was generally due to changing reproductive intentions—often from family pressure to bear another child.
