FRONTIERS PROJECT
Strengthening Emergency Contraception in Nepal

FRONTIERS and the Nepal Fertility Care Center provided technical assistance to help the Government of Nepal introduce emergency contraception pills (ECP) into the national family planning program. In the first phase of the project, ECP was introduced in three regions of the Kathmandu Valley. The project helped the Family Health Division to plan the introduction, provide educational materials, train a cadre of trainers for government officials and facility providers, and develop a management information system to help monitor the use of ECP.
