FRONTIERS PROJECT
This project built upon studies conducted in Bolivia (see "Consolidating a Gender Perspective in the PROCOSI Network") on incorporating a gender-sensitive perspective into reproductive health services. Participants from Latin America and the Caribbean attended a workshop on this approach,
which involves identifying a set of standardized gender-related goals for reproductive health organizations, implementing action plans to achieve these goals, and receiving certification as a gender-sensitive service organization.
Workshop attendees from eight countries received training on how to implement the gender accreditation system, including conducting baseline and endline evaluations, developing action plans, and implementing supervision to ensure that proposed changes were implemented. FRONTIERS also provided follow-up to assess resulting changes in participating organizations, and to help adapt the gender accreditation strategy.
