Overview
Behavior change communication (BCC) is a key component of many HIV prevention, care and support, and treatment programs. BCC encompasses many different types of activities, from soap opera "telenovelas" to mass media information campaigns to interpersonal peer education programs to community meetings that mobilize action. One of the most common forms of BCC activities is communicating messages via mass media, such as television or radio. This section includes examples of questions that can be used to measure exposure to mass media messages and questions about typical use of mass media. Examples of questions relating to behavior change communication have been selected from the questionnaire below:
