HIV/AIDS Research Dissemination Event: Agenda (PDF) Organized by:
HIV/AIDS poses a grave threat to individuals, communities, and economies worldwide. This is especially true in developing countries, where more than 90 percent of all HIV infections have occurred. This meeting will highlight recent research findings and program experiences from developing countries that focus on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. It will also bring together policymakers and advocates in order to facilitate and promote the development of evidence-based EU policies and the implementation of an effective global response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The meeting will focus on the following topics:
Presenters and discussants will include representatives of Horizons/Population Council, India; International HIV/AIDS Alliance, UK and Zambia; UNAIDS; European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development; Stop AIDS Alliance; and the European Commission. Horizons Program: Implemented by the Population Council and partners, Horizons has for the past ten years conducted operations research to strengthen HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs in developing countries. Horizons is funded by the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the generous support of the American people through US Agency for International Development. International HIV/AIDS Alliance is a global partnership of organizations reaching out to communities most vulnerable to HIV or most affected by it. These organizations include national NGOs and country offices in more than 30 countries, a secretariat in the United Kingdom, and representative offices in the United States and Belgium.
