Through
the Population Council's Middle East Awards (MEAwards) program, Turkish scholars are addressing a number of issues related to
migration. Studies are looking at the effects of migration status on health and the
formation of group identity.
At the Child Health Institute in Istanbul, a
Council-sponsored research project explored new fathers taking a more active role in the
well-being and development of their infants. Another project goal included
strengthening family communication on a range of child care and reproductive health issues.
