- Since 1978, 215 research awards have been made: 50 in Egypt; 59 in Turkey; 20 in Sudan; 14 in Jordan; 17 in Lebanon; 16 in Morocco; 7 in Tunisia; 12 in Palestine; 4 in Yemen; 5 in Algeria; 1 in Saudi Arabia; 1 in Syria; 1 in Mauritania, and 8 comparative research projects. The total number researchers supported by MEAwards is 311.
- Since 1978, MEAwards supported 47 study groups and 16 workshops that were co-funded by local and international institutions.
- Since 1978, the program has published 49 regional papers, several of which were subsequently published in international journals or as chapters in books.
- The average amount for research awards has been US$12,608. Through modest sums of money awarded wisely, MEAwards has encouraged critical research in the region.
