In South Africa, the Population Council is testing Carraguard gel, a product developed over nearly two decades that we hope will contribute to the fight against AIDS. The Population Council is developing additional microbicide formulations, including one that contains a drug to neutralize HIV and one that will also prevent pregnancy.
