Microbicides are products
being developed to reduce the transmission of HIV when used during

gel, a product developed over nearly two decades that we hope will
contribute to the fight against AIDS. The Population Council is developing
additional microbicide formulations, including one that contains a drug to
neutralize HIV and one that will also prevent pregnancy.
