Africa's Future: Improving the Health of Mothers and Children

Experts from Senegal and Uganda among speakers discussing reproductive health, demographic challenges at Congressional briefing

WASHINGTON, DC and NEW YORK, NY (1 June 2009) — On Friday, 5 June, representatives from the Population Council and colleague organizations will share data and first-hand experiences to address why so many mothers and children suffer from illness, injury, and death related to pregnancy and childbirth. Speakers will also discuss strategies and approaches for how international assistance can most effectively improve the health of mothers and children in Africa.
