Population Council Research that makes a difference

Building on the 2005 Population Summit

Population Council researchers are working to ensure that population becomes a more central issue in Pakistan's development plans and policies.

The goal of this project is to move forward on the policy directions outlined at the Population Summit 2005, in particular to inform the agenda of Pakistan's National Population Commission. Through generating and collating evidence researchers want to ensure that population is considered an important part of the discussion on Pakistan's development plans and policies.

Project staff intend to achieve impact by:

  • preparing white papers on at least two important areas to initiate debate about the centrality of population issues for development;
  • mapping reproductive health services; and
  • developing leadership at the district level.
