Male Circumcision Partnership: Achieving Scale
The Male Circumcision Partnership is establishing multisectoral provider networks for high-quality adult male circumcision services.
The Population Council is a member of the Male Circumcision Partnership, which is led by Population Services International and includes Marie Stopes International and Jhpiego. This partnership has been created to establish multisectoral provider networks for high-quality adult male circumcision (MC) services.
These networks will contribute to national strategies for expanding MC services by delivering approximately 676,000 affordable or free MCs in two African countries over five years. The Male Circumcision Partnership will generate informed demand for these services and discourage risk compensation through innovative behavior change communications campaigns. Research on operational models will generate evidence to recommend MC service-delivery models suitable to different countries and contexts. Jointly, these activities will provide lessons learned and best practices that will allow the partnership to educate other donors, governments, and organizations about scaling up MC activities more broadly.
