PROJECT
Improved Pakistani Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services Program

The Population Council is working with Greenstar Social Marketing (GSM)—a nongovernmental organization in Pakistan that specializes in the social marketing of contraceptives and other health products. The goal of this project is to design and implement quality-of-care studies and to determine the reasons for the success of the private clinics operating within GSM's franchise in increasing utilization of contraception to reduce unmet need for family planning services.

The Council also is providing technical assistance for a national study of contraceptive use. This study has been commissioned by GSM and is being carried out by a private firm called Oasis. Council staff members are assisting in building the capacity of GSM staff to improve their monitoring and evaluation capabilities.
