"If you want to fight poverty and extremism, you need to educate and empower women and bring them into the economy."
On Monday, 24 May 2010, the Council hosted a presentation by Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof.
Through his recently published book, Half the Sky, his op-ed column in the Times, and his numerous speaking engagements around the world, Mr. Kristof sheds light on many issues that are central to the Population Council’s mission to improve the health and well-being of current and future generations in developing countries.
