The Population Council conducts research in over 60 developing countries,
working collaboratively with governments, institutions, nongovernmental
organizations, and individuals.
The Council's headquarters and biomedical laboratories are located in New
York City. The management of the operations research programs, one
concentrating on reproductive health and the other on HIV/AIDS, is based in
Washington, DC.
