Erica Soler-Hampejsek is an associate with the Council’s Poverty, Gender, and Youth program. Using a variety of statistical methods, she studies the influence of schooling on the timing of sexual initiation, marriage, and childbearing.
Soler-Hampejsek began her work with the Council as a Fred H. Bixby Fellow in 2008. She has collected and analyzed longitudinal data in Guatemala, Malawi, and Zambia. In Malawi she coordinated data collection for the Malawi Schooling and Adolescent Survey. In Zambia, she is implementing and evaluating the Adolescent Girls’ Empowerment Program.
Soler-Hampejsek received her PhD in demography from the University of Pennsylvania.
