Lauren L. Katzen

Lauren L. Katzen manages the development life cycle of all Population Council HIV and AIDS biomedical prevention products. Katzen applies her background in social science and health policy to product development, seeking the meeting point between behavioral and biomedical considerations to support the development of HIV prevention products that are not only safe and effective, but also meet user needs.

Before joining the Council in 2006, Katzen conducted research on violence against women in Italy. She holds an MPA in health policy and management from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, and a BA in sociology, Italian studies, and women’s studies from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
