Lauren L. Katzen

Lauren L. Katzen manages the development of all Population Council HIV and AIDS biomedical prevention products, from preclinical to clinical testing. Katzen applies her background in social science and health policy to product development, seeking the meeting point between behavioral and biomedical factors to create HIV prevention products that are effective, affordable, and easy to use.

Before joining the Council in 2006, Katzen worked with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center in New York developing research and measurement tools. She holds an MPA in health policy and management from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, and a BA in sociology, Italian studies, and women’s studies from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
