Nina Derby is a scientist in the Council’s Center for Biomedical Research. She contributes to intravaginal ring and gel microbicide study design, analysis, and manuscript preparation, and collaborates with other researchers to advance new microbicide strategies and dissect the mechanism of HIV transmission.

Since joining the Council in 2007, Derby has published in many peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents research at internal meetings and national and international meetings. She holds a PhD in pathobiology from the University of Washington and a BA in biochemistry from Smith College.
