Rania Roushdy is the senior research manager of the Poverty, Gender, and Youth program of the Population Council’s West Asia and North Africa office. Her work includes project management, research, and consultative activities in several countries in the region.
Roushdy has extensive research experience in the areas of gender and youth employment, job quality and labor market dynamics, poverty, and migration. Her work involves close collaboration with government and nongovernmental organizations, research and academic institutions, and UN agencies. She joined the Council in 2003.
Roushdy has participated in numerous international conferences and has several publications. She holds a PhD and an MA in economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, as well as an MSc and BSc in statistics from the School of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.
