Health Facts About Emergency Contraceptive Pills

There exists a great deal of misinformation about emergency contraceptive pills. To alleviate confusion about emergency contraception, the Population Council produced a fact sheet that is both brief and annotated with citations of scientific materialspeer-reviewed published articles, official statements from the United States government and from professional medical associations, and informational Web sites—that can help people understand the issues surrounding these important medicines.

This fact sheet is available online in English, Spanish, and French. (There are two French-language versions of the fact sheet. One mentions emergency contraceptive pills that are available in Africa, and the other mentions emergency contraceptive pills that are available in Canada and the United States.)
