REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Youth

Adolescents, particularly in the developing world, suffer disproportionately from negative reproductive health outcomes. They are vulnerable for both physical and social reasons and often suffer serious long-term consequences. As a group, however, they are often neglected by program efforts and health policy.

Population Council research seeks to provide married and unmarried adolescents with reproductive health knowledge and skills to improve preventive behaviors and improve their health-seeking behavior.

In addition, efforts are made to strengthen the ability of health care providers to provide youth-friendly services and improve provider attitudes toward sexually active adolescents.
