A Diagnostic Study to Promote Young People’s Healthy Behaviors in Alternative Development Zones of Peru

This diagnostic study in Peru seeks to describe preventive behaviors expected to reduce health risks; identify additional behavioral, social, and other protective factors to prevent such risks; define reliable and valid indicators for these protective factors; generate a baseline against which the success of future interventions can be evaluated; compare youth subpopulations defined by sex, education, urbanization, and geography to determine whether differentiated interventions are required; assess parents, teachers, peers, and community leaders as promoters of young people’s healthy behaviors; and propose specific interventions that take into account the results of the study.
