The Population Council is a leader in conducting studies on a range of reproductive health issues. 

Council research in this area emphasizes the synergy of reproductive health and family planning services and seeks to combine them successfully and cost-effectively. 

Examples of key reproductive health programs include:

Frontiers in Reproductive Health systematically examines and improves family planning programs in developing countries.

Gender, Family, and Development explores girls' and women's roles, status, and their ability to make decisions about their lives.

Horizons is a major effort that focuses on global operations research on HIV and AIDS.

Impact Studies assess the effects of improvement in quality of services on women’s reproductive health and behavior.

Robert H. Ebert Program on Critical Issues in Reproductive Health pursues innovative strategies for often-neglected topics.

6 February 2008 marks the fifth anniversary of International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Cutting. The Council's Frontiers in Reproductive Health program will host a symposium to share strategies to reduce the prevalence and deal with the consequences of this harmful traditional practice. (more)
