STRENGTHENING PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES
Navrongo Health Research Centre Fellowship

The Navrongo Health Research Centre (NHRC) functions as an institute within the Ghanaian Ministry of Health to improve scientific understanding of the causes and consequences of disease and illness in northern Ghana and feasible means of intervention. The Council's Policy Research Division works with the NHRC to grant both predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships, awarded to researchers in the fields of public health and demography. Recipients of fellowships join the research team of the NHRC in its work on the impact of health technologies, the development of practical means of organizing health and family planning services, and social research on illness and reproductive health.

These fellowships are made possible through special grants received and are not affiliated with the Council's Social Science Fellowship Program. Both the predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships are one year in length; the postdoctoral fellowship can be renewed for a second year by invitation of the NHRC, if funds are available.

Currently, no Navrongo fellowships are available.
