Alan Ring
Director, Grants & Contracts
Alan J. Ring, director of Grants and Contracts, brings more than a decade of experience in global business operations management, specifically multiple-location management, process management, compliance oversight, financial management, and resource management.
Ring has comprehensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of developing and managing business and compliance with state, federal, and foreign government organizations, as well as other private, public, and not-for-profit entities. In his previous position as senior contracts administrator rising to associate director of a $60 million operational program unit at the Academy for Educational Development, Ring's experience provided him with exceptional knowledge of federal and commercial procurement and contract law, contract/cooperative agreement negotiations, and project and financial management and compliance. He has extensive federal government experience with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the US departments of Defense, Education, Health and Human Services, Justice, and Labor, as well as agency experience with the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, the National Institutes of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Ring conducts USAID Rules and Regulations and Contracts trainings for InsideNGO and is a member of the National Contract Management Association. Prior to his work for not-for-profit, nongovernmental organizations, Ring served as chief of staff for a Wisconsin state representative. Ring has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
