Population Council Research that makes a difference

Ali M. Mir

Ali Mohammad Mir is a program associate with the Population Council, Pakistan. He obtained his master's in public health from the University of Leeds on the prestigious Chevening scholarship and has over twenty years' experience in both the private and public health sectors. He received specialized management training from Harvard University and has attended major leadership courses in the United States. Mir also has authored two books and numerous research publications.

Mir has presented a number of research papers at national and international conferences. Leadership development, team-building, mentoring, human resource development, and program design and implementation are the main areas of Mir's expertise.

He is affiliated with the Population Council's HIV and AIDS program and is currently chief of party of the USAID-funded Family Advancement for Life and Health (FALAH) project, the aim of which is to reposition family planning as a health intervention in Pakistan.

Mir also is an executive council member of the Population Association of Pakistan.
