Population Council Research that makes a difference

Andrea Eschen

Director of Development

Andrea Eschen, director of development, oversees the Population Council's initiatives to secure unrestricted funding from individuals and family foundations, cultivate European donors, and raise restricted funding from multi- and bilateral donors. She has been at the Council in this position since 2009.

Before coming to the Council, Eschen was the associate director of development at the Rainforest Alliance overseeing the individual giving program. Prior to this, she was director of business development for six years and senior director of Latin America for four years at EngenderHealth. She began her career at the Population Council working on a regional operations research program in Latin America and in the Reproductive Health program.
