Bruce Variano

Senior Scientist, Head of Pharmaceutical Development

Bruce Variano is a senior scientist with more than 19 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Currently he is the head of pharmaceutical development at the Population Council’s Center for Biomedical Research. Variano is an experienced project leader in developing drug-delivery systems as well as drug product technology for clinical trials. At the Council, he is responsible for directing the manufacture and final design of drug-delivery systems, development of production technology, transfer of technology to contract manufacturers, and collaboration with vendors for manufacturing scale-up processes. 

Variano earned his Ph.D. at New York University.
