Population Council Research that makes a difference

Mst. Farhana Akter

Assistant Program Officer

Farhana Akter has worked as a senior research officer in the Population Council's Bangladesh office since July 2008. Akter is affiliated with the Council's Reproductive Health program. Currently, Akter works on the pilot project "Introducing the Pay-for-performance (P4P) Approach to Increase Utilization of Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health Services in Bangladesh."

Akter is involved in coordinating, monitoring, and implementing project activities at the field level. As a senior research officer, she currently is responsible for preparing survey instruments, providing training to data collectors, managing surveys, providing assistance in preparing presentations and reports for stakeholders, and collecting and maintaining all documents developed and prepared under the project. Akter plans to continue her work on maternal health in the future.

Akter received her bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.
