Kim Gerstman

Associate Director of Development

Kim Gerstman is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating an array of fundraising strategies to increase unrestricted support from individuals and family foundations for the Population Council.

Gerstman has extensive experience in successfully building and strengthening individual giving programs. From 2003 to 2009, she worked at the American Civil Liberties Union as director of major gifts. From 1994 to 2003, she was the director of development of NARAL Pro-Choice New York, the largest US affiliate office of the reproductive rights organization, NARAL Pro-Choice America. Prior to these positions, she held fundraising positions at Bailey House, an organization providing housing and support services for homeless New Yorkers with HIV, and at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center in New York. Gerstman has a master's in business administration with a specialization in arts administration from Binghamton University.
