Population Council Research that makes a difference

Md. Moshiur Rahman

Program Officer

Moshiur Rahman has worked for the Population Council in Bangladesh for over seven years. He is affiliated with the Council's Reproductive Health program. His key areas of expertise include preparing project proposals; providing technical assistance in designing, budgeting, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and documenting field-based operations research programs; and developing logical framework-based strategic program designs and implementation plans. Rahman has proven experience in introducing financial schemes to encourage poor rural women to utilize pregnancy care in Bangladesh. Recently, he is involved with a multi-country study to evaluate the impact of the voucher-and-accreditation approach to improving utilization of maternal health services in Bangladesh.

Rahman has an M.Sc. in statistics from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and an M.S. in population and reproductive health research from Mahidol University, Thailand.
