Senior Program Officer Profile Ismat Bhuiya is a senior program officer with the Bangladesh component of the Frontiers in Reproductive Health program. She has been conducting operations research in collaboration with governmental and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in the areas of adolescent reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections in men, and HIV and AIDS since 1993. She is also involved in developing the national HIV/AIDS database. Bhuiya is the vice chair of the STI/AIDS Network, which is composed of national and international NGOs in Bangladesh. Prior to joining the Population Council, she worked for Bangladesh's Ministry of Science and Technology. Bhuiya has given presentations at conferences and workshops around the world. She received a master's degree in laboratory science from Chittagong University and a master's of public health from Dhaka University.
