STAFF BIOGRAPHIES
Judith A. Diers, Ph.D.
Associate
Judith A. Diers is an associate in the Population
Council's Poverty, Gender, and Youth program and coordinator of Transitions to Adulthood,
a global program funded by the UK Department for
International Development. She also conducts primary research and
provides technical assistance in research utilization to nongovernmental
organizations and United Nations agencies in southern Africa. Diers has
nearly ten years of experience working in the field of family planning
and expertise in applied, behavioral, and operations research.
Previously, Diers was a special assistant to the Population Council
president. Before joining the Population Council, she worked as a
consultant to the Family Planning Council, Inc., where she conducted
statistical analysis of a longitudinal survey on women at risk for HIV
and AIDS, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Diers also worked in Namibia with the Namibia Red Cross and the
University of Namibia. Diers has a Ph.D. in public policy and demography from Princeton
University and an M.A. in theology from Union Theological Seminary. |
