Senior Data Manager Profile Marlena Gehret, a senior data manager in the Population Council's HIV and AIDS program, began working at the Council in January 2004, two months before the Phase 3 trial began for Carraguard®, the Council’s lead candidate microbicide, designed to prevent HIV infection in women. During this time she oversaw the database and data-cleaning process for the trial, which completed data collection on 31 March 2007. She has been involved with writing the trial's final report and is supervising analysis and data programming for trial-related publications. Gehret currently is a candidate for a master of science in biostatistics at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and will graduate in May 2008. Her undergraduate degree is in statistics and biomathematics from Rutgers University.
