Senior Program Officer Profile Sharif Mohammed Ismail Hossain is a project director for the emergency contraception and male involvement program. He designs, implements, supervises, and monitors projects. He has also assisted the Government of Bangladesh in scaling up project activities. Hossain's areas of expertise include STIs, HIV/AIDS, reproductive and sexual health, family planning, and diarrheal disease research. Prior to joining to the Council, Hossain worked for the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease and Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) as a clinical fellow. Hossain has represented the Council at national and international forums and provided technical assistance to NGOs and government agencies. He has given presentations at conferences and workshops throughout Southeast Asia. Hossain has a graduate degree in medical science from Chittagong University, Bangladesh and a master's in public health from the National Institute of Preventative and Social Medicine, Bangladesh.
