STAFF BIOGRAPHIES
Jill Keesbury, Ph.D.
Associate
Jill
Keesbury
is the coordinator of ECafrique, the African forum on emergency
contraception, and a program associate with the Population Council based
in Nairobi. Keesbury has been with ECafrique since 2004,
carrying out extensive research and network building on emergency
contraception in Africa. She has been actively involved in
mainstreaming the method in both Francophone and Anglophone countries,
contributing to national policy development processes and conducting
operations research studies in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Zambia. Prior to
her appointment, Keesbury served as a University of Michigan
population fellow in the Council’s Nairobi office and as a senior
research analyst at USAID’s Development Information Services. She holds
a Ph.D. in international relations from the University of Hawaii
(East-West Center) where her research focused on post-Cairo policy
change in South Asia.
