Executive Assistant to the Regional Director & Communication Coordinator Profile Mona Emil Rizk is the executive assistant to the Population Council’s regional director for West Asia and North Africa, and the communication coordinator for the Cairo office. She joined the Council in May 2001 as an administrative assistant to the regional director. In June 2002 Rizk was assigned the additional responsibility of communications activities. Rizk has many years of administrative experience. She has held administrative positions, all of which were based in Egypt, at the US Naval Medical Research Unit #3 (NAMRU-3), American University in Cairo, and General Dynamics. She earned a B.A. in English language and literature from Cairo University. In addition to Arabic and English, she is fluent in French.
