STAFF BIOGRAPHIES
Rania Roushdy, Ph.D.
Associate
Rania Roushdy is an associate in the Population Council's Cairo office.
She is an economist; her main interest is in economic development and
applied econometrics. Roushdy received her Ph.D. in economics from the
State University of New York at Stony Brook in May 2003. She also holds
an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in statistics from Cairo University.
Roushdy’s current research lies in four areas: analysis and dynamics of
the Egyptian labor market; migration and household well-being;
intrahousehold allocation of resources and women’s empowerment; and
poverty mapping and small-area estimation techniques. She has
participated in numerous national and international conferences and has
several publications.
Roushdy is
affiliated with the Population Council's Poverty, Gender, and Youth program. |
