Postdoctoral Fellow Profile Bussarawan (Puk) Teerawichitchainan has been a postdoctoral fellow with the Population Council in Vietnam since 2006. She received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Washington. Her areas of interests include a range of issues related to poverty, health, family, gender, and human development in the developing world. She pursues these interests using advanced methods of statistical analysis and a mixed-method approach combining social surveys with in-depth interviews. Her current research evaluates how poverty- and health-related programs, inequality, and ethnic minority status impact childhood and adolescent development in Vietnam with an emphasis on health and socioeconomic outcomes. Her ongoing work also addresses the divergent experience in the life course and aging of the Vietnamese population who grew up during the Vietnam War.
