Gisele Kabore

Project Coordinator

Gisele Kabore is a social psychologist with experience in action research, project planning and management, and monitoring and evaluation of projects on reproductive health with special emphasis on gender and development issues. Kabore has over 14 years of experience in research and technical support to national and international institutions, and community-based organizations, such as the Population Council, World Bank, Initiative Privée et Communautaire de lutte contre le VIH/SIDA, Programme de marketing social des condoms (PROMACO), Population Services International, ABBEF, Danish Cooperation, Swiss Cooperation, among others.

Kabore joined the Council in 2004 as coordinator for a project targeting sex workers. Since April 2007, she has been coordinating projects in Burkina Faso for the Poverty, Gender, and Youth and Reproductive Health programs. Concurrently, she has been providing overall technical and administrative support as needed across the program portfolio and administrative oversight for the Burkina Faso office.

She received both her bachelor's and master's degree in social psychology at the University of Abidjan. Prior to working at the Council, she was an independent consultant conducting research on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.

Migrant Adolescent Girls in Domestic Service: Building the Evidence Base on a Vulnerable Population (more)
Population Council researchers are working with local NGOs to implement and test an intervention for migrant girls in domestic service in urban Burkina Faso that builds skills in health and hygiene with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, numeracy and financial capabilities, and life skills.
