In recent years, increased attention has been focused on the reproductive health needs of young people, in part because of the alarming rates of HIV infection. Four popular approaches to adolescent programming have emerged: youth centers, peer education, school-based family life/sex education programs, and youth-friendly clinical services. The Population Council conducts research on youth programs to determine whether they are reaching the adolescents they are targeting.
