In recent years,
increased attention has been focused on the reproductive health needs of
young people, in part because of the alarming rates of HIV infection. Four
popular approaches to adolescent programming have emerged: youth centers,
peer education, school-based family life/sex education programs, and
youth-friendly clinical services. The Population Council conducts research
on youth programs to determine whether they are reaching the adolescents
they are targeting.
