CBR’s product development work is informed by a robust basic science program that addresses some of the most pressing scientific questions in the field related to:

- Promising approaches to preventing Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and associated cancers
- How STIs such as HIV, Herpes simplex virus (HSV), HPV and others interact to increase risks to women’s and men’s health
- Protective immune responses that could be manipulated to reduce the risk of infection or disease
- The effect of aging and hormone levels on susceptibility to HIV
