Rigorous research is at the heart of the GIRL Center. It is essential to ensuring that programs and policies that affect adolescents, especially girls, are evidence-based, cost-effective, and successful.
The Population Council is building the world’s largest body of research on what works to improve the lives of adolescent girls in developing countries. As of 2018, more than 200,000 adolescents around the world have or are currently participating in Population Council research and programs.
Building on that work, and the work of our partners, the GIRL Center generates, synthesizes, and translates evidence to transform the lives of adolescents.
