Council Recognizes Lasting Impact of Philanthropist David Rockefeller

The Population Council mourns the passing of David Rockefeller, a visionary philanthropist and long-time supporter of the Population Council. 

Rockefeller died in his sleep Monday morning at his home in Pocantico Hills, New York. He was 101.

Brother to former Population Council president John D. Rockefeller III, David Rockefeller was noted for his extensive support for The Rockefeller University, which is home to the Council’s Center of Biomedical Research. He also supported a range of educational, cultural, and philanthropic institutions in the United States and around the world.
